Providing quality LGV CPC training in Newcastle and UK.
Delivering periodic LGV/HGV CPC training in the North East & Yorkshire.
All LGV drivers must undertake 35 hours of periodic training by 2019 and then within every 5 year period. The training we are providing has been developed by RTITB to the highest quality and is fully up to-date with legislation changes.
The consortium’s objective is to provide high quality periodic training, as required by the EU directive, in a manner which is cost effective, reliable and robust.
All courses are approved by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) on behalf of the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency.
LGV training will be conducted each month at Parklands Golf Club, Gosforth.
The start time will be 8.30 in the morning and finish at 5pm.
There is a 30 minute registration period followed by 7 hours training. There are two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch break.
This is strictly audited training so please don’t ask to leave early. Obviously anyone can leave early for any reason, but unfortunately, if anyone does leave they won’t receive their certificate for that day and will have to complete a further full day’s training.
The schedule is as follows: -
Monday: Drivers Hours, The Working Time Directive, Company Procedures & Secure Transport Operations for LGV
Tuesday: Digital Tachographs & Analogue Tachographs for LGV
Wednesday: Safe & Economic Driving for LGV & On The Road
Thursday: Vehicle & Load Handling Systems & Vehicle Systems
Friday: Health & Safety in Transport & Emergency Actions
The CPC training doesn’t have to be completed in one week. You can take a day’s training each year until you receive 35 hours training, as long as you don’t go over the deadline in the final year.
On completion of each training day you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
For those of you who don’t like exams, you’ll be pleased to know that this training is attendance only.
You can, however, request an assessment paper, which will be attempted at the end of each training day. Just ask your instructor prior to the end of the day so he can sort the paperwork required.
Once you have completed the 35 hours of periodic training you will qualify for a new Driver Qualification Card (DQC) which will be automatically sent out to you. If you have a current DQC the new one will be sent out to you prior to the new period starting.
Please be aware that it is now a legal requirement for you to carry your DQC – fines of up to £1000 could be imposed and your insurance could be affected if you are found not to be carrying your card.

If you passed your LGV Licence test before 10/09/2009 you have acquired / grandfather rights with regards to the initial CPC qualification. However, if you now want to drive again for hire or reward you need to complete 35 hours of periodic training.
